Aggie Soccer Has Intrasquad Scrimmage On Saturday

Aug. 15, 2008

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State soccer opens its 2008 campaign with an intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 5 p.m. at Logan High School. Saturday's contest will be played on Logan High's football field.

This season will be the first since 1999 that the Aggies have not led off the season with an exhibition against another team. The last two seasons, Utah State has tied Dixie State 1-1 in double overtime. Last season, then-freshman, Lauren Hansen, showed a glimpse of what was to come, scoring the Aggies only goal of the match.

The Aggies have 16 returning letterwinners and six starters from last season's squad that went 10-11, including 5-2-0 in WAC play. Utah State officially opens the 2008 regular season traveling to Pocatello, Idaho to take on Idaho State. Kickoff is 4 p.m. This is the third-straight season that the Aggies have started the season on the road and the second time in three years that they have begun the season at Idaho State.

Logan High School is located at 162 West 100 South with the football stadium being located just off of 300 South. Admission to all USU soccer matches is free.
