2005(SOPHOMORE)-- After redshirting the 2004 season due to an injury, Nelson returned to compete on bars and vault. Her season high on bars was a 9.700, recorded against California. Set a season high on vault against Denver with a 9.800 which tied her for third on the event. She received WGC academic all-conference honors for the third straight year. 2003(FRESHMAN)-- Set USU record for 39.00-plus scores in a season with 12, breaking former Aggie Christy Denson's mark of nine... All-around scores in 12 of 14 meets were better than 39.000, including 39.500... 2003 average on vault (9.796, fourth), beam (9.775, third), bars (9.798, second), floor (9.805, sixth) and all-around (39.500, fourth) make her the only current Aggie with top-10 averages in all five catagories... Career high 9.950 ties her for second all-time on floor. Meagan received first team all-around all-Western gymnastics conference honors in 2003. CLUB/HIGH SCHOOL-- Competed as a Level 10 gymnast for Cassie Rice and Jill Enritta at GymCats Gymnastics in Las Vegas... An eight-time state champion, she has titles in the Level 10 bars, vault, floor and all-around... Owns Level 9 titles in floor, vault and all-around competitions... Took second at the 2001 state meet in the all-around... Finished 11th at Level 10 nationals as a senior. PERSONAL-- Majoring in Elementary Education and minoring in Math... Married to Corey Lewis, a pro mountain biker... Daughter of John Nelson and Roxanne Kelley... Has three younger sisters... Her father, John Nelson, ran track at Nevada-Reno. |
